Me in three

As I build my blog, I think it is important to let you know a little more about the person writing this little ole blog.  Here is me in three words:

Leader
This is the word most often used to describe me.  I am the leader of my house.  I truly believe it is my job (and my dream) to take care of the house and the kids.  Of course, my husband is my helper here, but the home is my domain.  I take my work very seriously.  Menu planning, healthy food choices, and keeping variety in my dishes has become sort of a passion of mine.  I try and find new ways to spend time with my husband and family.  I am the vacation planner and the event coordinator.  I love to plan and execute events...just ask my neighbors.  Being a leader has come in very handy when running a ministry, as well.  Cypress Calling Ministries is truly my niche when away from home.  I have enjoyed helping start a ministry from nothing and watching it grow into something that is so very much needed.   There is not much I am afraid of when it comes to running the ministry and I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of it.  I had no idea how all the choices I made when I was younger, such as student council, working at day cares, and even working in corporate America,  would help shape me as the leader I am today.

Mother
As a child, I could be found in my parent's car playing babies (no, I didn't have the keys!).  I would pretend I was on a long road trip.  I would pretend to have to stop and care for my babies.  I don't remember having a husband on these road trips- perhaps I knew that I would be married to a pilot :) I just remember loving the fact that I had to take care of my babies.  Playing princess and dressing Barbies was never my thing.  I just knew I would grow up and have a family that I would adore taking care of.  I am by no means the perfect mother.  I yell when I am stressed and when my children scream or fight I can feel my nerves getting rattled.  But, I find great joy in helping my little people become who God intended them to be.  I am forever grateful for my husband who has chosen me to be the mother of his children.  He unselfishly works hard so I can stay home and encourage our children.  He has given me my family and this is not something I take lightly.  Although I did not choose a word to define me as a wife, this most certainly would be my next choice.  Without being a wife married to a wonderfully loving and patient man, I could not live my dream of being a mother.

Creator
Playing with paper is my creative outlet.  I love to scrapbook as most of you know.  Hence the name Mama Scrapper.  I find great joy in making every card I send to anyone.  There really is nothing more relaxing to me than figuring out how to create the perfect layout whether it be for a beloved picture for my scrapbook or for a special card for a friend.  My hobby never stresses me out, but I don't find the time or energy to do it as much as I would like.  I have recently found a new way to work with paper: quilling.  This is the old art of rolling paper.  I can incorporate this hobby into my scrapbooking and card making.
My need to create does not stop with paper.  I also find joy in planning parties and events.  If the whole non-profit world doesn't pan out, I know I could be an event planner.  I love coming up with games, prizes, and the general itinerary of an event.   I am a people person and sometimes there is no greater joy than watching people come together and enjoy themselves over food and games.  I can't wait until my kids get older and we can be the ones to throw the parties.

I hope these three small words which greatly describe me have helped you get to know me a little better.
